Tour Blog: Kansas City — The Day After

“Why is it shuttered?” Mikey asked as we pulled up at the address we received from the El Torreon booking people.

“Christ,” I sighed. “Not again.”

When we got back to the motel, I got on the phone with Lacey. I demanded to know why we were, once again, getting booked in venues that didn’t exist.

“This is pretty recent,” Lacey tried to explain. “They didn’t even know this was going to happen until you were out on tour.”

“I’m sick of this bullshit!” I snapped. “Either check these fucking places out beforehand, or I’m canceling the tour!”

“You can’t do that,” Lacey said. “What about Hank?”

“Fuck that motherfucker!” I shouted. “We aren’t even Starshine anymore, so why does it matter?”

“You wouldn’t have this tour with out him,” Lacey reminded me.

“Fuck,” I groaned. “Okay, fine. Just do me a favor and check these places out in advance. God!”

“No.”

“Okay.”

We shared an awkward silence.

“Do you want me to join you on this tour?” Lacey asked.

“Not really.”

“Well, I’m going to, anyway. I’ll meet you in St. Louis.”

I sighed. “Fine.”

We hung up.
